Admission Details

Two academic cycles are followed

  • 1) Starts in January and ends in December
    2) Starts in July and ends in the following June.
  • Most of the Master's degree Programmes are being offered in July cycle. Almost all the Diplomas and a few professional programmes are offered in January cycle.
  • The Notification for admission is issued in major national and regional news papers separately.
  • The University has introduced Walk-in-admission facility, with effect from January, 2001, for all Certificate Programmes (CPs) for six-month duration. The candidates who are desirous of taking admission to any of the CPs are required to approach the concerned Regional Director at any time during office hours. The admissions for these programmes will remain open round the year therefore the candidates may get / submit the application forms as per the following schedule.
    For January Session : 1st June to 30th November
    For July Session : 1st December to 31st May
  • The detailed information on admissions and application forms are available on the University web site www.ignou.ac.in.
  • Ignou provides considerable flexibility in entry qualifications, place, pace and the duration of study.
  • Students enrolled at other university can also join IGNOU programmes simultaneously.
  • Students enrolled in Degree Programmes in IGNOU can simultaneously pursue other Certificate Programmes.
 

Preparatory Programme in Computing (PPC)

  • MCA / BCA : Those who have not studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level will be required to successfully complete the Preparatory Programme in Computing (PPC) concurrently with the 1st / 2nd Semester and such candidates are also required to pay an additional fee of Rs. 600/- alongwith the admission form.
Reservation
  • The University provides reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC, Wards of Paramilitary Forces, Wards of Defence Personnel and Physically Handicapped Learners, as per the Government of India rules, for various programmes of the University.
Scholarships and Reimbursement of Fee
  • Reserved Categories, viz. SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped learners have to pay the fee at the time of admission to the University along with other general category candidates.
  • Physically Handicapped learners admitted to IGNOU are eligible for Government of India scholarships. They are advised to collect scholarship forms from the respective State Government Directorate of Social Welfare or Office of the Social Welfare Officer and submit the filled-in forms to them through the concerned Regional Director of IGNOU.
  • Similarly, SC/ST, OBC learners have to collect and subsequently submit their scholarships forms to the respective State’s Directorate of Social Welfare or Office of the Social Welfare Officer, through the concerned Regional Director of IGNOU for reimbursement of programme fee.
  • Scholarship scheme of National Centre for Promotion of Employment of Disabled People (NCPEDP) for Post Graduate level programme is applicable to the students of this University also. Such students are advised to apply to awarding authority.
Incomplete and Late Applications
  • Incomplete application forms / Re-registration forms, received after due date applications having wrong options of courses or electives or false information, will be summarily rejected without any intimation to the learners. The learners are, therefore, advised to fill the relevant columns carefully and enclose the attested copies of all the certificates asked for, and submit the form to the Regional Director concerned on or before the due date.
Simultaneous Registration
  • Students who are already enrolled in a programme of one year or longer duration can also simultaneously register themselves for any certificate programme of 6 months duration. However, if there is any clash of dates of counseling or examination schedule of the two programmes taken, University would not be in a position to make adjustment.
Disputes on Admission & Other University Matters
  • The place of jurisdiction of filling of suit, if necessary, will be only at New Delhi / Delhi.

Revised B.Ed.-2011 ADMISSION NOTIFICATION

This is in continuation to admission notification issued in national dailies on 5th August 2010 inviting applications for admission to B.Ed.-2011 programme wherein 50% marks in Bachelors or a Higher Degree from a recognized University (Relaxation of 5% for Reserved Category applicants as per Government of Indira Guidelines) was mentioned as eligibility criteria, however, 50% marks is not applicable to the persons appointed as teacher prior to 26th July 2010. Other criteria remain the same.

Note : Please submit the EXAMINATION FORM along with the fee demand draft in favour of IGNOU payable at LUCKNOW, at IGNOU Regional Centre, B-1/33, Sector-H, Aliganj, Lucknow as per the above schedule.

Before submitting the examination form please ensure that:

  1. The required number of assignments as applicable for the course(s) filled in the examination form have been submitted.
  2. The authentication certificate is duly signed by the Coordinator/Incharge of your Study Centre/PSC/PI…etc.
  3. Registration for the course(s) is valid and not time-barred.
  4. Examination fee 60/- per course has been remitted and the relevant proof enclosed.
  5. In case examination fee is submitted through demand draft please ensure that the demand draft is made in favour of IGNOU and payable at the city of the Regional Centre where you are submitting your examination form.
  6. The enrolment number, programme code, course code are correctly filled in the examination form.
  7. In case of non-compliance of any of the above conditions candidature for appearing in the Term-end Examination will not be considered and no Hall Ticket will be issued.

» Examination fee per course is - 60/- (Examination fee once paid will not be refunded/adjusted in any case)
» Examination form to be submitted at - Regional Centre under which your examination centre falls.
» Demand draft to be made in favour of - IGNOU and payable at the city where submitting the exam form

Assignment:

The University, with immediate effect, has made the submission of assignments mandatory for issue of hall tickets. Therefore, all the concerned students are required to ensure validity of registration and submission of assignments for the course which they intend to appear for the term-end examination and get their examination form authenticated from their Study Centres / Programme Study Centres / Special Study Centres / Recognized Study Centres / Partner Institutions / Community Colleges / Convergence Centres / Programme Coordinators, etc. to this effect and submit the same at the Regional Centre to which their opted examination centre pertains.
